“Some people want to make it happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen.”
This reminds of us the parable of the flood where a man was trapped in his home as a flood roared in. He prayed to God to rescue him and swiftly had a vision of God’s hand reaching down from heaven to lift him to safety. His neighbor urged him to leave and offered him a ride to safety. The man yelled back, “I am waiting for God to save me.” The neighbor drove off in his pick-up truck.
The man continued to pray and hold on to his vision. As the water began rising in his house, he had to climb up to the roof. A boat came by with some people heading for safe ground. They yelled at the man to grab a rope they were ready to throw to him. He told them that he was waiting for God to save him.
The man continued to pray, believing with all his heart that he would be saved by God. The flood waters continued to rise. A helicopter flew by and a voice came over a loudspeaker offering to lower a ladder. The man waved the helicopter away, shouting back that he was waiting for God to save him. The flooding water swept him away.
When he reached heaven and asked why God hadn’t saved him, God said, “I sent you a pick-up truck, a boat and a helicopter and you refused all of them. What else could I possibly do for you?”
Whether for religious conviction or any other reason in any other area of your life, what holds true is you are the power and you have the fuel to make amazing things happen in your life. Which almost always requires you to break out of the comfort zone of waiting or praying or hoping and in to the action zone of doing and making it happen. As Leigh Anne Tuohy, matriarch featured in the book and movie, The Blind Side, says, “Nothing good can happen in your comfort zone.”
These sentiments are so true in life, and particularly when it comes to health and weight loss. We are never less than impressed with our clients as they break out of the encasements of extra weight and begin focusing on developing goals and working toward bringing them to fruition. They repeatedly inspire us, every one of them.
